MOSCOW, Oct 9 (PRIME) -- Russian car producer AvtoVAZ has launched production of Lada Vesta cars with a new type of automatic transmission -- continuously variable transmission, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.
“The new version of the car is part of the brand’s strategy to extend the model range and raise comfort of the driver and passenger. Continuously variable transmission of Japan’s brand Jatco is widely used on the Renault-Nissan cars and has been offered to the buyers of Lada Xray Cross since July 2019,” AvtoVAZ said.
The new transmission is smaller and 13% lighter than the previous models, and raises traction performance and working capacity in cold weather, skidding and heavy load, ensure acoustic comfort and fuel economy.
